2010 Property Tax Bills Issued

The 2010 Property Tax bills were issued by the Inland Revenue Department on Monday 9, 2010.  Property Owners and Agents are therefore advised that if they have not received their bill(s) that they should contact the Inland Revenue Department where our officers will carry out the necessary review of records and advise on the tax status of any property.

 

The 2010 taxes become due and payable on Friday October 8, 2010.  Where payments are made by the due date customers will receive a five percent (5%) discount. Property owners are admonished to take advantage of the benefits gained by paying on time, that is, before October 8, 2010. 

 

Customers are advised that after October 8, 2010 the five percent (5%) discount will be no longer applicable. Property owners will be required to pay in full the total due until December 7, 2010. After December 7, 2010 outstanding amounts and balances will attract charges for late payment. An initial penalty of 5% is added if the overdue amount is not paid by December 7, 2010. A further penalty of 5% per annum is added if the amount in arrears is not paid within the calendar month during which the first penalty was added.

 

Property Owners and Agents are also informed that the 2010 bills does not include taxes that are overdue or are in arrears. Inland Revenue Department personnel should be contacted for information regarding whether there are taxes in arrears.

 

In conclusion, property owners are admonished to take advantage of the benefits gained by paying on time, that is, before October 8, 2010. Therefore by paying early you pay less and save more.
